Why You Should Attend
Running a business is hard. Only about 4% will ever make it to their 10th year…it requires wisdom and understanding. I have found in my own work, that getting together with a small group of like-minded business owners to discuss plans and strategies, is invaluable. This 2 1/2 day meeting is a hands on, focused session – not lecture and theory, but rather hands on planning and strategy. Our purpose will be to seek God’s best for our businesses this year. I was reading in Proverbs 8 this morning, and this stood out to me:
Wisdom says in vs. 18: Riches and honor are with me. Enduring riches (retained earnings – vs. debt) and righteousness. My fruit is better than gold, yes, than fine gold, and my revenue (top line sales) than choice gold, and my revenue than choice silver…that I may cause those who love me to inherit wealth (financial freedom), that I may fill their treasuries (long term savings).
God doesn’t promise His people big bank accounts, but it is clear from this passage, that God would have us pursue wisdom (seeing and responding to life’s situations from God’s frame of reference – knowing His will, and doing things His way) and operate with prudence (making decisions with Godly character), rather than focusing on gold as the end goal. And if strong revenues are to come, it will be by His hand (Deut 8:18) as we apply these principles.
Who Should Attend
Unlike the regular Raising Entrepreneurs conferences – this meeting is more for those who own businesses or who are serious about starting a more substantial business. If you are a Christian business owner (of any age – parents and students) or looking to be one in the coming year), and seeking to apply God’s ways to your business – this is for you. I am limiting this to just 10 people. It’s hands on – practical, and collaborative. I hope to have the sign-up page in place within the next 24 hours (Check here to see).
What I Plan to Cover
This session is to build, enhance, or refine your plan. It’s to get ideas and put them into actionable goals. You will leave with a written plan designed to take you through the remainder of this year. I plan to cover topics such as:
- Building your business plan (template will be provided)
- Setting your mission and vision
- Establishing your value proposition
- Establishing long range and short range goals
- Growing sales
- Applying Biblical marketing principles
- Establishing the right metrics to measure performance
- Dealing with personnel challenges (both contracted and full time)
- Building financial stability and balancing your budget
- and more…
And, I will be providing an additional phone consultation (generally an hour) as a follow up to review your plans and any financial challenges you may be facing in your business.
